I have some questions :
I am trying to set up a mail server using sendmail 8.11.3 (lattest ver ) on
linux 6.0
My linux m/c has sendmail 8.9.3 (by default) installed ie when i installed
RedHat6.0
as a server .
Do i have to remove the earlier ver or just stop it and install the new
ver.
What happens to the earlier version .
In the manual(that i read) it was written thet stop the sendmail services
and Build the new one and restart it .Would that be fine enough ..
The command to stop earlier sendmail (as i read it )
#/etc/rc.d/init.d.sendmail stop
Then install new sendmail
#./Build install
<......>
Then to restarted the Deamon (as i read it )
#/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail restart
Should i go ahead with it .. or any other suggestion to install sendmail
