Fine, no hassles.

Backup the sendmail binary and config files (sendmail.cf, sendmail.cw etc etc)
first - then rebuild sendmail.

> Should i go ahead with it .. or any other suggestion to install sendmail

Do it. And another thing - the redhat sendmail.mc is at /etc/sendmail.mc.
Copy it to /usr/src/sendmail-8.11.3/cf/cf/config.cf and then edit it using vi /
pico (say).

Change the line

include(`/usr/lib/sendmail-cf/m4/cf.m4')

to

include(`../m4/cf.m4')

Put whatever changes you made to sendmail.cf in the mc format there (see the
file cf/README for more- or see an example mc file at
http://www.hserus.net/pop_smtp.html ...)

Then after you finish editing config.mc, save the file

As root, run

mjollnir:/usr/src/sendmail-8.11.3/cf/cf/> sh Build config.cf

Copy config.cf to /etc/mail/sendmail.cf and restart sendmail. Instead of using
/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail restart give this command -

# kill -HUP `head -n1 /var/run/sendmail.pid'

        -s
