I assume you're using stable. Stable (potato) has XF3.3.6, not XF4. If
you want to use XF4, you'll have to upgrade to testing (woody) or
unstable (sid). Just change your /etc/apt/sources.list to woody or sid,
and do an "apt-get update", and then either "apt-get dist-upgrade", or
try "apt-get install task-x-window-system".
