If you do a make install after doing a ./configure --prefix=/usr (the default
is to install into /usr/local) then you dont need to worry about replacing
things - mutt will replace itself.
If things go wrong you can reinstall from the RPM
Speaking of that - try the rpm from http://mutt.linuxatwork.at
-s (and fix your system date - it's one month behind ...)
