The sendmailconfig and eximconfig scripts (which I checked out - I dont use
debian so didnt check the others) are quite good for basic functionality.

Sendmail is about the only app where they say "dont edit the .cf config file"
:) Adding / removing macros / features from a .mc file and regenerating
sendmail.cf is the way to go (even more than sendmailconfig / suseconfig etc)
