Thanks. I wanted to know if exim can handle bulk mail as efficiently as sendmail and
postfix can. This is a direct connection so I don't have a complicated setup. (the
info with exim says that it has an extremely good queue processing algorithm), maybe I
should check at the respective homepages.

yeah, Postfix is fine and easy to configure for a dialup line
