[LIH] kernel parameters and sound card

is it possible to pass parameters from boot prompt and
make a kernel use a sound card ?

or is it possible to take the ym7xxx.c file from 2.4 kernel
add it to the tree of 2.2 and compile and expect kernel to work ?
