Forget broken hardware.... It doesn't even tolerate fraction of performance
loss.

I bought an ASUS mobo for AMDK6II cpu. It was working fine but used to give
sIg11 during kernel compilation. And I couldn't find any problem with
anything. I even tried to downgrade the bus speed to most conservative but
no help.

At last I replaced it. With everything else same except the mobo, it worked.
I had real tough time to convince the vendor that the board was *buggy*...
:-))

Ab bolo..... Totally broken IDE is far easier to detect....

Hell of diagnosis, hmmm... ;-)
