Alsa is definitely better than the OSS/Lite drivers that come with the
kernel. I have been using it for over a year now with 4 different sound
cards and have had no problem and it also offers full duplex sound.
IMO the OSS/Free don't do full duplex (atleast a year ago they didn't. you
had to *PAY* for the full duplex drivers)
And alsa is the future... it's going to get into the kernel tree pretty
soon I suppose since they recently jumped their version number to 0.9.0
On my SB Live the alsamixer allows me to control 137 parameters !!
show me a OSS mixer that gives you so many features.
