Hi all
I had a RH 6.1 kernel 2.2.12, in which i compiled the new kernel 2.4.3. Now,
no user other than root can login through X. If i used text-based boot mode,
then when a non-root user logs in, he gets a "[: Too many parameters"
message and then the usual propmpt. But, in X, the screen goes blank for a
few seconds, as if the new user is being logged in and then it returns to
the login/password authentication screen, with no "Authentication failed" or
other message.
Also, ever since the new kernel was compiled, while shutting down, "X Font
Server [FAILED]" message appears, instead of the usual [OK].
Any help will be appreciated,
