I went online yesterday.......
The Problem was that a few entries had to be made in
modules.conf..... It as mentioned in changes file of
lin 2.4 and aso the README.linux of pppd but the first
time around I added entries that were not for
devfs....
Thanks Guys for helping me out.......
my system is running fine.......Now some please tell
me what to do with my Vibra 128.

I did the kernel compiling properly........ no probs
there.........
