|The Times of India (Delhi Edition) this morning carries an Interview with
|Atul (Chitnis). Any further comments.... It is true that Linux can and

Atul has nicely explained about growth of linux in India, indeed a good job.

As regards use of linux in schools, I have serious doubts, because

1. The schools (may have a few exceptions) employ computer teachers usually
passed out from fly by night coaching classes, who can not use windows
properly.

2. The syllabus is a total eye wash, and includes dos,WordStar, lotus,
windows and some times basic.

3 The schools are interested in collecting computer fee (around couple of
thousand per student), and have least regards for the actual training
imparted to student.

This is based on my experience after I visited a few schools in Nagpur,
armed with Linux CD, offering free installation.
