In case of audio CD's you dont need any software to play them. You could
have as well pressed on the play button on your CD Drive to do that. The
CD Drive is directly connected to the soundcard. All CD Drives can
handle Play/Pause/Skip although some might not have the buttons to
actually do that manually.
