 If you use courier imap, I suggest you use maildrop as the local delivery
 agent (that's also by Sam Varshavchik).  It does filtering quite well - and
 Sam claims it beats procmail any day :)

 set mbox_type=maildir
 then set the MAILPATH variable (during compilation) to {imap.server.name}blah
 ... that should help I think.
