to change the logo there is a file is kernel sources 
/usr/src/linux/include/linux/linux_logo.h 
note that  to change ths file you will need a gimp plugin or else download 
fblogo the utility to convert any tiff file to linux_logo.h once this is done 
change the coordinates in /usr/src/linux/drivers/video/fbcon.c look for 
#define LOGO_H    80 ====> change your coordinates here
#define LOGO_W   80 ====> change your coordinates here

the fblogo will also give the above co-ordinates for you
