There u will find the packages (rpm) required to run zzplayer. Since I am
now on Debian with XFree 4 and KDE2 I can not run zzplayer. I tried to run
zzplayer after isntalling kde1-compat rpm but it does not work. They have not
yet come out with version of zzplayer for KDE2. Next release of their's
will be for kde2.
Requirements:
* Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL) 1.1.7 or newer
* SMPEG 0.4.2 or newer
* KDE 1.1.2 and Qt 1.4x if you want the KDE GUI
* Gnome if you want the gnome GUI
Meanwhile, thanks to Faisal I got hold of mplayer. It is excellent video
player. I can run mpeg and dat files without any problems. I get excellent
video quality too :-) However at present there is no GUI front end for
mplayer. It is under developement. But there are keyboard controls
available for whatever u want to do with the movie :-)

However for full screen mode to work with xv driver u will need XFree 4 on
your machine / u will have to compile mplayer with sdl options and use sdl
driver while running mplayer. At present no binaries of mplayer available.
You will have to download and compile. But that is a simple task. I faced
no problems in compiling mplayer.
