Hmm... I think a lot of OSes run on the itanium... intel has made machines
available for OS developers.. and linux was amongst the first OSes to be
ported made easy by the fact that linux runs on the 64-bit alpha chip....
but the same didn't help M$FT which was the last OS to be able to run
sucessfully on the itanium!!
