if you have an internal modem i am not sure whether it will work or not
to connect to your isp you will need
1 your username and password (it's obvious)
2 isp's phone number
3 their dns numbers (both primary and secondary)ring up the isp's support

now, in your kde panel you will find a button marked "K" (it is usually
towards the lower left corner of your screen)
press that and a menu will pop up
in that menu go to the "internet" submenu and find kppp
click on that and in the new program window that pops up press the "setup"
button
now you have to setup your modem
find out the com port that your modem uses
now go to the devices tab and in the "modem device" dropdown menu, specify
the port
/dev/ttyS0 is com 1 under dos
/dev/ttyS1 is com 2 under dos
/dev/ttyS2 is com 3 under dos
...
and so on
after choosing the port for your modem, proceed to the modem tab and press
the query modem button if you get a "modem ready" message then all is well
and your modem is ready to work under kppp
then go to the acounts tap and press the new button
enter the name for your connection, the phone number and the dns ip
addresses, and press the ok button
in the the kppp window enter your username and password and press the
connect button
about your sound iam not very sure but try using the setup command from
the terminal
