I am using kernel modules for my Creative Ensonique ES1371 sound card.
Will go through the documentation in the kernel for my sound card.

Is using alsa going to help me, if midi support is not there in kernel
sound modules ? Anybody using alsa on ES1371 ?

ps. : I have also got timidity on my machine and it plays midi
files fine. No problems. Why than for doom / quake there should a problem
of midi setup ? Similar error comes if I try to play midi files using
kmidi. It gives me can not open device. I presume it is also referring to
/dev/sequencer.

Warm Regards
