I have the same chipset on my mobo.. the kernel drivers are problematic..
either get the latest one from their site and compile it and stuff.. or
take the better way out... switch to ALSA...(www.alsa-project.org)
It works like a dream on alsa.. and you get more control over your card
than with the kernel driver!
