[LIH] linux server and linux clients

Hi

Iam new to linux  and networking.
Iam trying to use linux server and 20 linux clients.
What should i go for?
disk less nodes, NIS,NFS,samba .............
my need is, when the clients login he should get authentication from the
server. and work on his local mechine
Please advice
