I use a Mercury 56k external(based on a TI chipset) and it's definitely
giving me a better performance than my prev. Rockwell chipset based modem.
I have a APC BackUPS AVR500 (It gives ample time to shutdown my machine..
10-15mins ... p3-733+17"Samsung ) so if you are looking for a UPS that
will last longer I would suggest you to go for something more powerful
VSNL rocks in Bangalore.. and I have had good experience with Sigma
Online. (both connect at around 50k and no packet loss)
