Hi

Sanjeev has addressed all the required points. But let me point out the
advantages, 'smb://machinename' with predefined username/password works 10
times faster than clicking on unmapped share in network neighbourhood. In fact,
I can not connect to few machines at all from my w2k box but from linux it's as
good as local dir..

Who needs network neighbourhood then?

 Thought it's worth mentioning...
