and i thought it would be best to mention it clearly lest other
flavors of WIN2K might be overwriting the MBR (for all i knew)!

I guess that's the best marketing phrase you can come across. Selling 'NT
under the hood' for five different price level, least being twice that of NT
itself.
It has to be a good marketing machine to do that...
