well whoso ever wrote this(please specify your name/or some handle).there is
no concept of registry in linux as yet,each program keeps it own conf file or
some form of database,like rpm maintains a database of installed pkgs.but
most of the configuration is stored in /etc directory.so it would be good
enough if you back up this dir and later use it to retrive configuration.If
you want to backup/image your hdd or burn it to your cd,there are lot of
basic unix utilities which can do this.you can use the _ tar _ to back up the
whole patrition or file system(s) etc.you can use the _ dd _ command to make
images of your hdd or a partition.you can even image using dd and burn it to
a CD using _ cdrecord _and mount the cd as ext2fs instead of iso9660.check

Is there HDD Image Backup software ( CD burning ) in RH Linux 6 like
Norton Ghost ( Win95 ). OR any provision like that of regedit in Win95 ?
I somehow installed and configured all the softwares & settings (
including True color reso.(SiS card ) / sound (Yamaha 16 bit) / modem (
Maxtech Int.) / Network card ( ISA ) etc.
And I don't want to loss this setting.
Help would be H I ...........G H L Y appr.
