I have NFS server running on Win2k server, and I want to mount the window shares on linux through linux NFS clients.

I am able to mount the shares as a root on the linux, but then the files in the shares show only root permissions. But it allows me to change these permissions to that of the local user. But after this change, if I access the share through the windows, it shows that the files have no permissions at all.

NIS server is also on a linux machine, and the User name mapping service is running on the WIN2K server, which maps the linux uid and gid with windows users and groups.

Can anybody help me to synchronize the permssions between linux and windows shares.
I joined this list 3-4 momths back. I have posted 2-3 questoins earlier to the list, but no replies. I am not sure whether there is something wrong in the way I ask, or what can be the reason.
Let me try my luck again.
