[LIH] how to view a jpeg recieved as attachment.

Of course. Edit ~/.mailcap and add the entry:

image/jpg; pixie %s

Save it. Then add

auto_view image/jpg

in ~/.muttrc.

That's it. Adjust to your choice of image viewer (xv, xview, whatever)
- pixie I think works only on KDE 2.0 and later.
