Hi,
If the file has written to disk, no matter small or big in size ( not in
RAM), Then rsync will get the updated file for the backup, if it is writing to
file in a buffer and you have't written it on disk, it will not be written..
rysnc uses remote update protocol method in which it generally checks the
parameter like file time stamp, size etc while taking the backup.
