On my old P166mmx machine I was using Ontrack for my 17GB HDD. I had
created the partitions using Ontrack, I think I had created 4 partitions
of 4GB each, one being primary. I have not fiddled with those partitions
using any other partitioning software. I was using windos and Linux on
that without any problems.

As far as Linux is concerned, with or without ontrack it recognises the
entire HDD ( in my case 17GB ). However for booting linux u will have to
use loadlin. I had created menus in config.sys to boot windows & linux and
one option for command prompt. This is required since Ontrack is already
there in the MBR :-)
If u boot linux through the boot floppy, linux will recognise your entire
HDD. See this time it is not loading Ontrack (since u are booting from
floppy), still your entire HDD space is recognised.
