   ummm... i am not exactly sure how to check for this!  the following is an 
   entry from my /dev
   
   0 crw-r--r--    1 root     root      10, 175 Mar 24 10:07 /dev/agpgart
   
   and this is what lsmod shows me...
   
   agpgart                23392   0  (autoclean)
   
   does this mean i have agp support compiled into the kernel?

   again... dunno how to!  would appreciate any pointers.

   no, i could not compile from source.  everytime i downloaded 
   the gz file was corrupted!  ultimately resorted to using the 
   rpm.
