dear friends,
this is kindda problem, which everbody faces.
due 2 reinstallation u have overwritten your MBR.
try 2 edit lilo.conf file once u boot in linux using loadlin command.
while installing linux always note down ur boot partion drive name like 
hda1/hda2 etc...this will help u to use loadlin command in dos prompt 2
load linux incase lilo is not working.
  if ur using dual OS(like windows,linux) then try 2 keep the win
partition as small as 2GB. this will help not xceeding the 1024 cylinders
as well ur windows will boot very fast.
