Well if 256 character passwd is allowed then it should
work universally.Dont know how M$ responds in such a
situation.It so happened that my root passwd was a bit
long ;) hence the problem.Any way it would be a
nuisance for GUI users on linux having a bit long
passwd's :D, having to kill X and all running
processes as well to login again alternatively
ctrlaltF1-Fn login at console and do some silly things
to get back to X again.

 Got it "read" in linux is not like "read only" in M$
to get in the folder "exec" is also needed.Problem

 By the way did the kmail FAQ answer work for you.For
me it didn't, just now tried at home. Mine is kde
2.1.1.
 I remember you have kde 2.2.
 If you are in pune could you lend me kde 2.2 for a
day? if thats in rpm for my deadrat 7.1 or tar with
some help/docs.
