Hi all,

I have a Aztech 2320 PnP sound card which works fine
in Windows98 but it is not working in PCQ Linux (Kernel
-2.4.3-12). The card is detected every time I boot up as
"Aztech 2320 PnP Sound Device" but it does not make a
sound when I am in GNOME or in KDE.

I tried to configure it with sndconfig. It detects the
card right but in the I/O etc. selection box and the
information is not something like what I see in
Windows "Device Manager". The card did not work this
way, I have tried all possible permutations and
combinations.

I have installed the following files to install ALSA from
PCQ CD.

alsaconf-0.4.3b-1.noarch.rpm
alsa-driver-0.5.11-1.i386.rpm
alsa-lib-0.5.10b-1.i386.rpm
alsa-utils-0.5.10-1.i386.rpm

Now when I try Alsaconf, it gives me a list of
various sound cards but did not find a Aztech 2320
entry. However I tried with Aztech sound galaxy card
but it did not work out.

I tried choosing some other cards also (ALSA) but it
did not work out as well. It created some files in my
system and I am getting errors that the system could
not find such and such sound cards at such and such
I/O address.

It can play audio CDs well and good, but not MP3s
and WAV files.

I have selected PnP OS from BIOS of my PC and if this is of
Any help, the PC is from HCL. The original config was, P1@200MHz,
16 MB EDO RAM, 2 GB HDD. I have recently added 128 MB SD RAM.

This is the BIOS identifier string of my PC:
"12/02/97-580VPX-SMC669-2A5LDSMCC-00"

Please help me out.

Thanks in advance.
