Hi

While formatting the hard drive, during Linux installation, give linear
as a parameter for the partition. SCSI disks and ide hard disk using the
bios parameter of LBA require the linear param to be specified.

I have read somewhere that linux boot partition cannot be after 1500
cylinders. May this is the reason you get the error message.
