Is RedHat Linux 7.X available for AMD K6 processor? If so, how does it
compare with that on a similar Intel processor for the following:
1. Features
2. Performance
3. Hardware compatibility
4. Software compatibility (support for third party software)
5. Bugs
6. Any other that comes to your mind

I intend to install RedHat Linux 7.X on an AMD K6-III. My motherboard
supports Pentium MMX, AMD K5/k6 and VIA C3. I suppose that Pentium MMX is
limited to 266 MHz while AMD K6-III goes beyond 500 MHz. Currently I have
Pentium MMX 166 MHz. Upgrading to K6 would give maximum speed with
minimum of fuss. My major concern is support for third part software and
amount of third party software available freely (not necessarily w.r.t.
cost).

Also is there any other variety of Linux that is more better suited to
AMD K6 than RedHat Linux?

Thanks,
Amol
