Yes, it runs on AMD K6. No significant difference in
performance when compared  with  Intel of equivalent
rating.

Distros vary in their init process, packaging polic-
ies and app management. There are pros  and  cons to
all of them. You may choose any ... AMD K-6 is supp-
orted by kernel 2.2.x onwards, any  of  the  current
distros on kernel 2.4.x will support it ...

Sub : System Information                             LOST #002

On a  running machine,  most of  the  system info used by the
kernel is stored as text files in /proc directory. Try out :-          

e.g. cat /proc/cpuinfo      ... for basic info on CPU

$ls /proc  ....  to see what else is there.
