Hi, I have to set a limit to Number of process, users can run and amount of resources(eg MEM) they can consume. how to do this? Problem is My system resources are being consumed heavily by users, forcing the server into unstable dangerous state
that is as soon as usage exceeds 899MB/1024MB and it cries out "_alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed" and stops responding. I wonder whats happening to 2GB Swap? it might be FULL too? Setup is mdk8,HIGHMEM enabled enterpraise Kernel 2.4.3-20,1GB RAM. strange thing is If I use HIGHMEM *disabled* stock kernel, I dont get this alloc errors BUT out of My 1GB RAM only 900MB will be recognised :( Please Help me. --loki BTW Is there any way to bring the system into stable state, when kernel/syslogd is dumping its error messages, endlessly on the console?, any key combinations?(otherthan ctrl+alt+del/reset ;) _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
