I use 'vsound' which I got from freshmeat long time back. Search there or at
google u will get it.

What vsound does is instead of sending the sound to the speakers it sends
it to the file. You can see the video in motion without sound. After your
song is over a .wav file is created which u can convert to mp3 using lame
or your preferred encoder.
