Ya boss, What KJ has written is *ABSOLUTELY* true... I bought myself a Creative 128 Vibra sometime back for a good 1000 bucks even though I already had a Yamaha sound card(700 bucks)... The old ISA Yamaha card, in my opnion, beats the Creative PCI card when it comes to performance...
And - friend - you don't need a hifi card just to listen to mp3's... and remember just buying a good card is not enough - you have to back the card up with some really good speakers like say - the Creative soundworks pro 5.1 or other similar stuff... Using a SB live with a pair of low end Kobian speakers does not do justice to the sound card or to the money you coughed up for it... -- Cheers, Narain.
