Hi friends, With the help of pc quest magazine and website, I could manage to configure sendmail for my domain. But there is still a small thing I want to implement and don't understand how to do that.
but once again need help of sendmail GURUs. I have configured one linux machine in our LAN with sendmail, which does following things. desai and krishna both have account on this machine. If desai sends the mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] through smtp (110.110.110.75, which is sendmail server on our LAN) to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and cc to [EMAIL PROTECTED] , this server will forward mail locally to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and sends copy to hotmail member externally(i.e. through smtp of ISP). Now what I want is, if a mail is sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and cc to [EMAIL PROTECTED] , where shah does not have account on this machine, the first mail should be forwarded internally and second should be sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] externally(i.e. through smtp of ISP). shah(who is not in contact with this machine even externally ) can retrieve this mail through pop because mycompany is hosted some where in USA. I tried it but while sending, it gives error Mail not sent, [EMAIL PROTECTED] ... User unknown. Will it do if I specify [EMAIL PROTECTED] in /etc/mail/local-host-names file, I think this file is important to filter the domain. In short, right now filtering is done using domain name. If domain is mycompany.com then forward it internally else forwarded it externally (i.e. through smtp of ISP). I want filtering on user basis. If user1 exists in mycomany.com and user2 does not exist in mycompany.com then [EMAIL PROTECTED] should be delivered locally and [EMAIL PROTECTED] should be delivered externally. -kvs _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
