Debian has three versions running concurrently at any time.
Stable ( potato or 2.2r3 presently),  Testing  (Woody)  and
Unstable (sid). Woody has been around for about a year, and
has moved from Unstable to testing  ... The specs are being
frozen on 08 Dec, IIRC. It  should  be moved to  Stable and
released by X-Mas (Probably Release 2.4). Packages in Woody
are presently rock-stable with all necessary security patch
and updates done. Probably kernel 2.4.5.

Sub : Directories-Only ls                            LOST #023

To get the  ls of directories only without a listing of files
in that directory: '$ls -d */' .... if you are on bash shell.
You may alias a command ( alias lsd='ls -d */' ) and place it 
in your .profile or the sytem /etc/profile ...
