Dead right Binand, Suresh informed about the maildir. I had deliberately avoided this to prevent confusion. Description would then be needed. Besides, 99% of folk stick to these two types only for mailing. For academic reasons, I should have included the third type. Same with Maildir. > And this is easily scriptable, IIRC. > AFAIK, Handling of MH type folders under mutt is pretty recent and has come after ver 1.2.4. I am not certain if it is proper to advocate installation of a software just for conversion ... People may need this conversion just to share mails between kmail and sylpheed, or pine and nmh ! OTOH, though mutt is one of the best MUAs available, many do not find it easy to use or perhaps, even daunting. > > Note: mailers like netscape-communicator use their own > > format and is neither mbox or MH type. > > Netscape uses mbox, with a few extra headers of its own, with > X-Mozilla prefix (allowed by the RFCs). > Agreed. It would still require conversion to a standard mbox which neither netscape nor mutt will do. I tried to make a converter. The variability in prefixes for atts was a prob & I gave it up ....
