You _can_ use passive FTP but this requires client side configuration.
With the FTP connection tracking module, you get _active_ FTP connects
w/o any changes to client side config! The best part is that there are
no new filter "rules" required for getting active FTPs to work as long
as you allow ESTB and RELATED connects. Just load the conntrack module
and you are on!
Don't you think using the FTP connection (ip_conntrack_ftp) tracking
module which allows active connects a better option?
