Dear Gurus, I ahve instlled cvs in PCQRHL7.1.I have made necessary changes in xinetd.conf as mentioned in article by Dr.Tariq Sani in Dec.2001 PCQuest magazine.He mentions that the entries are to be done in inetd.conf but xinetd is extended inetd so I made entries in xinetd.conf.I aso created the link to /etc/passwd file using "ln -s /etc/passwd passwd" from directory /usr/local/cvsroot/CVSROOT. I have expoeted the Env Variable CVSROOT in .bash_profile as mentioned in the article.
I also ensured the entry cvspserver 2401/tcp in /etc/servives. xinetd starts without error. But when I run cvs login as normal user it prompts me for CVS paasword.When i give the password ( same as system user password) it gives me following error: cvs login aborted Connection to localhost:2401 failed:access refused. Is it that the way entries in inetd.conf and same entries in xinetd.conf are different? Am I missing something? Regards, Prasad __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
