LFS is by no means an easy venture ... FYI, this is not stand- alone and needs to be created as the second OS. You need to have a working system and a stable gcc installed already. You have to download each and every thing and compile. Anyway, all the best for your venture. You can get a single CD Slack 8, and build from there. It is rock stable and reliable. Incidentally, debian needs only 3 odd FDDs to install.Once the initial base system is set, the rest you can apt-get at your own convenience. By then the disks would be out ... The delay between release of slink and potato and their availability in the Indian market was about 8-10 weeks ... and woody was form- ally declared stable on 08 Dec 2k1. At the bash prompt "!" allows you to go back to the last command executed with a search pattern. e.g. During an edit-compile session you entered something like gcc -o test test.c, and then edited it again, to re-compile it all you do is enter '!gcc' [Enter] ... and there it goes ... ####<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>######################################## : _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
