hello all. (new year greetings too!) i need some urgent advice on what cd-writer / recorder to select to work under linux. currently running a non-unix os, i have the iso images for redhat 7.2, which i need to burn onto cds (this task will have to accomplished with my current os). i need to purchase a cd-writer *urgently*, however i am a total newbie in this regard. need help on:
1. selection criteria for cd-writers (write-speed, rewrite-speed, read-speed / buffer memory / ide, scsi?...) 2. any information on known brands which are good candidates (or even the worst ones which i could simply avoid) ideally my budget should be *not more than* rs. 6000/- i am a poor student ;-(( 3. help on burning redhat iso images onto cd-r's under non-unix os pls. note: i am the proud owner of an antique pentium one-166 mhz, 32 mb ram system. would this be a potential problem to write cd's considering a slow cpu and low ram? want to switch over to linux at the earliest. your help will be greatly appreciated. warm regards, vishal. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* "There are two ways to live your life.
