Hi,

I have a PC with Windows XP preloaded. I have two HDDs. I installed Mandrake Linux 8.1
in the second hard disk's primary partition while keeping the other partition for
Windows. The installation went on fine but I am not able to mount either the CDRom or
the floppy. Linux has identified the modem but does not dial when asked to. Now I am
planning to switch to Red Hat Linux 7.0. But after installation of Red Hat, the usual
LILO graphical screen doesn't come up. Instead, the graphical boot loader of Mandrake
Linux (Aurora ???) is shown as before. And since it cannot find Mandrake anymore it
doesn't start with Red Hat either. Can anyone let me know as to how I can remove the
boot loader of Mandrake. Previously with Windows 98, I used to go to DOS and give the
command "fdisk /mbr". But since I have Windows XP, fdisk is not available. Can anyone
throw light?

Regards,
Prasad

PS: I am a newbie to Linux so please make it simple :-)
