ssh using keys with passphrases handled by an agent. The user need not
know what is happening, a cron job on the backup server connecting to a
sshd running on the client PC, executing a backup job and shutting down
the machine later can easily be created. No need to extend trust vectors
beyond the backup system.

(Of course, IMHO, a Windows system should never be exposed to the
internet)
