hi
we are using a linux machine with squid in between a DSLAM and router.
During peak hours we are able to see lot of packet collision occuring in
the switch port where the linux machine is connected and the dsl users are
unable to brows the internet. The dslam stops. Once we reset the dslam. It
starts to send packets and within 10 mininutes it gets choked. So we have
removed the linux machine and if the dslam connection goes directly to
router, there isn't any problem. Is the problem is with the linux box or
with the dslam.
we have stopped squid and all ipchains rules and tried simply setting this
as a gateway to the dslam again the same problem occurs.
[linux box: linux 2.19 (Rh7.1 ) with 768mb ram and P-III 600mhz. Network
card is intel 100mbs.]

what could be the problem?
Any one faced this kind of problem. Please give your views to overcome this
problem.
