The display of time on your system depends upon the format
you set for your local machine. It seems  that  your local
(laptop) box is set to UTC. Depending  upon  your  distro,
the place where the setup is kept may vary, and  the  tool
with which you set may vary. Usually your time  preference
is stored in /etc/hardwareclock. This is amended  on  run-
ning programs like "timeconfig" (or your distro time tool)
on your local box ...

Ensure that both the laptop and the host machine  are  set
to the same rules ...
